ABOUT US

Built in 1872 to serve as the village school, it provided education for generations of children, some of whom still live in the village.

In 1980, it ceased being used as a village school and very nearly found itself being demolished.  Local residents were opposed to any such scheme and in 1984 the Parish Council leased the building and the land in front of the property to the newly formed Shiptonthorpe Village Hall Charity for a period of forty years, who pay a peppercorn rent per year.
